For apprenticeship sponsors and chapter workforce leads

The RI delivery channel your program has been waiting for.

If you run a registered apprenticeship program under ApprenticeshipNC, your apprentices have a 144-hour-per-year Related Instruction requirement. Crew Rise Mentor gives you an additional RI delivery channel — voice-first, available when the apprentice is not in a classroom, and aligned to the code edition and state adoption record you already teach.

DOL Circular 2026-01 alignment

2026 changed what a registered apprenticeship program is allowed to do.

Three regulatory actions in early 2026 reshaped the landscape. Crew Rise's architecture was designed around these provisions — because they describe exactly what Mentor is.

DOL Circular 2026-01 · March 9, 2026

Competency-based RI + SME instructors

Formally recognized competency-based Related Instruction as valid RI. Recognized licensed tradespeople as qualified RI instructors without a teaching credential. Recognized self-study and electronic media toward the 144-hour annual requirement.

TEGL 08-25 · April 10, 2026

SAEF4 funding for RI innovation

Provided formula-based SAEF4 funding to states including North Carolina to support innovation in registered apprenticeship programs. NC's allocation supports sponsors who are investing in RI infrastructure. Funding flows to sponsors, not directly to Crew Rise.

DOL Bulletin 2026-35

30-day program registration shot clock

Established a 30-day shot clock for program registration decisions, reducing friction for new sponsors. Programs moving now have a clearer path than those that moved two years ago.

Program ownership and MOU

Your program stays your program.

Crew Rise is an RI delivery layer, not a registered apprenticeship sponsor. You keep ownership of your apprentices' records. Crew Rise does not sell that data, does not use it to train models on behalf of third parties without explicit consent, and provides full data export in a structured format on request. If a sponsor leaves Crew Rise, they take their data with them.

Because every Mentor interaction is a short, deliberate press-to-talk session — not a passive background stream — your dashboard reflects actual learning interactions, not minutes of background app activity. The engagement data you see is real.

NC's SAEF4 allocation under TEGL 08-25 is directed at supporting sponsor-side innovation in apprenticeship programs. Crew Rise positions sponsors to use those funds for RI delivery. We do not receive those funds directly — we help sponsors make the case that their investment in a modern RI system is a legitimate program expense.
